It’s an Ilmington tradition that began in lockdown, when we wanted to remind ourselves of the meaning of Christmas. We couldn’t meet up, but we could shine lights in the darkness and candles in our windows, creating community with strings of stars and twinkly trees. Now, of course, we are back in business for mince pies and mulled wine, carols and good company! But we still light up our houses and gardens on the first weekend of Advent. Saturday will be a lovely afternoon / evening to stroll around the village and wind up on the community café terrace to see the Christmas tree come to life. Bring the family, bring the Christmas spirit and we’ll do the rest!
