Why not prolong your summer by joining Book Club @thecafe this month? We are heading for One August Night on the Greek island of Crete, and the year is 1957. Victoria Hislop’s dramatic tale is her sequel to The Island, one of the best-selling book club novels of all time. A cure has been found for leprosy and villagers are holding a party to mark the closure of the leper colony across the bay. But the celebratory spirit is about to be dashed. We’ll be discussing One August Night one November afternoon: Tuesday 7th at 2pm to be precise! We’d love to see you.
