She and her friend Molly, 10, raised more than £100 for the Newbold Sea Scouts through their own endeavours. They sold their handmade bracelets and asked us to guess how many chickpeas in a jar (1,038 in case you’re wondering!) Molly decorated dog treats and Phoebe sewed cushions using her mum’s sewing machine. Phoebe, from Halford, had recently had an op to fix her knee after a gymnastics accident, but still stood on her crutches all morning. Customers’ imagination was captured by their energetic efforts to “turn £1 into £5.” Well done girls – and thank you for the Easter card!
