It’s a chance to read, share and discuss books over a cup of tea at Ilmington Community Café. Like all our community groups, the atmosphere is informal and all-inclusive. There’s no pressure to air clever opinions or even to read the book: it’s ok just to come along. This month’s book choice is Bill Bryson’s At Home: A short history of private life. It’s a domestic history perceived through the lens of Bryson’s 1851 Norfolk rectory, an ordinary home, where ordinary life unfolds. Victorian bed bugs and family recipes are staged alongside sweeping events like the Industrial Revolution. We’ll be chatting about At Home @thecafe on Tuesday 3rd October at 2pm and we’d love you to join us. The kettle will be on!
