…that’s what we do at Ilmington Community Shop on the last Sunday in September. Our volunteers arrive as soon as the shop doors close and get down on their collective knees, (or climb up ladders,) to log every item we sell, from ice cream to biscuits, bottles of wine to books of stamps. Wednesday 1st October is the start of another financial year, so a thorough reckoning must be done. Thanks to Sarah, Michele, Laura, Susan, Astrid, Fiona, Martin, Anne, Debbie – and Caroline, whose decluttering business and organisational skills make her a natural at this kind of work.
