Welcome back to Ilmington Community Café, where we are trying a very different approach following lockdown! As a community-run cooperative, we’ve harnessed volunteer horsepower to create a friendly space for coffee, cake and tea. The highlights of our simple terrace menu are the delicious homemade sponges and fruit loaves, brownies and tray bakes that have been prepared in the kitchens of Ilmington. (Following the proper hygiene protocols of course.) Volunteers are also working front of house, serving our community and visitors with a smile. We may not be fast, so please don’t be furious! Sometimes we will need to close our doors so we can prioritise community groups: for instance, on Friday mornings we are still preparing grocery deliveries for vulnerable residents, so the café won’t be open. Have a look at our website for our ethos and our opening hours. Tea and teacake on the terrace: what could be better?!
