It’s Ilmington’s famous Open Gardens weekend! It’s wonderful to see the village buzzing with visitors, admiring some amazing private gardens and comparing notes over a cuppa. Yesterday at Ilmington’s Community Café, we sold 285 slices of homemade cake and served more tea than a knees-up at the vicarage. Today it’s the turn of The Children’s Society charity to deliver their famous cakes and hot drinks in the Village Hall. Gates open for the National Gardens Scheme from 12.30 to 6pm and it costs £10 per person to visit all nine gardens. Your ticket price benefits Shipston Home Nursing and we will be making a donation to that charity too
