…, a volunteer at the Community Shop and Café. As part of Great Big Green Week, Jane is Celebrating Nature outside the café on Saturday. There will be a stone trail around Ilmington (with beautiful painted stones by @kathrynmannartist), the building of a bug hotel and a stall of pollenating plants by Ilmington florist Leanne King. “As soon as Jane mentioned it, I said Oh yes, get me involved!” says Leanne. “We’ll be selling wildflower plants and an array of bee-friendly plants. And bunches of seasonal blooms all grown a few miles down the road. Mum and Dad have a farm near Clifford Chambers where they are all grown.” Celebrating Nature begins at 10am and runs till 2pm on the café terrace. Jane hopes that children will come along with parents and grandparents: “I want families to learn how to encourage bees and wildlife in their gardens,” she says. “And to appreciate nature.”
