From field to fork, the beef only travels about five miles, via the grill pans of family butcher Robbie Walker. “Rob Harrison rears his cattle in Broad Campden,” says Robbie. “We use the Harrison family business for our lamb and ice creams too.” Robbie’s shops are in Moreton-in-Marsh and Ebrington, so he won’t have far to come for tomorrow’s end-of-summer gathering on Upper Green. “If the weather’s nice, it will be really busy!” he says. “I love Ilmington. I think the community shop’s fantastic. It’s a proper nice little shop.” Alongside Robbie’s burgers, hot dogs, gluten-free chicken burgers and veggie burgers (£5 per item), we will be selling drinks, cakes and ice cream.
