Volunteers bake the cakes, volunteers serve at the till, volunteers make and serve the coffee, tidy the tables and wash up the plates. Apart from our shop managers – who you will no doubt meet, but who also have a hundred other jobs to do – the person in the pinafore is likely to be unpaid and giving up their free time to serve you. We’d like to thank our customers for your patience and understanding, especially during the busy summer season. If it’s fast food you seek, you can always take away a sausage roll from the shop. But if you want to enjoy the community spirit, come and chill in our conservatory or on our terrace and get into the village vibe! Service may not always be swift, but it comes with a smile
