Clare joined us this week following a year of volunteer shifts on a Monday afternoon. “Volunteering here has shown me the importance of the shop and café to our community,” says Clare. “It’s the connection people get from popping in. Some people just come in for a little chat. It’s really nice.” Clare and her husband Paul have lived in the area for 30 years and for two years in Ilmington itself. She has worked as a nurse, a teaching assistant and as an Integrated Disability Assistant in Warwickshire. At 61, Clare is retired with three grown-up children and a two-week-old granddaughter in America. “We want to do some travelling,” she says. First stop will be to see baby Cali – born in California of course. Welcome to the team Clare. It’s great to have you on board!
