Friedemann hails all the way from Ebrington (and, originally, Germany!) and he decided to join us following the AGM. “When we first came to the Cotswolds in 2020, we did a lot of walking and found the Community Shop,” he explains. “It was in Covid times. We really loved the shop and have come here ever since. Amanda and I became members and attended the AGM in March. We loved the atmosphere, particularly Mike’s performance.” (Mike Tremellen, our chairman, delivers a great AGM!) “I thought the evening might be a little bit boring because AGMs usually are boring, but it was joyful. We could see all the committee members were very competent. It felt like it would be a really nice experience to join the committee and a chance to contribute my skills.” Friedemann, who celebrates his 50th birthday in November, left a career in banking to help his partner Amanda run their nutritional supplement business from home. “I had a long-term plan to change my life and at 45 I left London. I decided to trade in my busy and stressful lifestyle for a more meaningful way of living.“ We just know that Friedemann will bring added value to the committee and we look forward to his fresh perspective on everything we do!
