… to meet the children of Ilmington and talk about our community shop. Michele is our manager and Debbie does the communications – and together they managed to conduct an assembly at Ilmington Primary School! “We learned about what it means to be a community shop and café and we found out there are just over 400 owners of our village shop and café,” said Miss West, the Years 5 and 6 class teacher. The children were a delight, with lots of hands up and great answers to tricky questions. They knew all about the meaning of community and why people choose to volunteer. They also guessed the most expensive items in our shopping basket (a bottle of spirits) and the cheapest (a sweetie bar.) And they found out that local Free Range eggs are our top seller. Thank you for having us, Ilmington Primary!
