and we are preparing a day of gratitude and community celebration in Ilmington village. There’ll be bell ringing and a dedicated Thanksgiving Service at St Mary’s Church at 11am on Sunday 4th July. Ilmington schoolchildren are even designing their own thank-you bunting for the playground. And from 12 noon, Ilmington Community Shop and Café will be hosting a socially-distanced picnic lunch on Upper Green. We are inviting residents to decorate our Thank You Tree with messages for everyone who has supported us during the pandemic. There will be take-away ice creams and drinks from the café and you can pre-order your picnic from us. All you need to bring is your blanket – and your pen: we will provide the tags, but we want you to write your own messages of gratitude. We hope our Thank You Tree will be festooned with love by the end of the day!
