These lovely young people are Ilmington’s one and only “floorball” team, showing off their new kit with the shop logo emblazoned on it. Pupils from Ilmington School play in a local league of junior schools that feed into Chipping Campden School at senior level. “Thank you so much for your extremely generous donation to Ilmington School’s floorball kit,” says headteacher Paul Crouch. “Your most kind contribution to the little, and not so little, extras that schools need is so very much appreciated.” Floorball is a little-known, fast-paced sport that resembles hockey. It can be played indoors or out, by girls and boys together, and substitutes are rolled out throughout the game so that lots of children get their chance to play. For our part, we have been keen to share some of the profits the shop made during Covid lockdowns with other Ilmington community groups. Sponsoring the junior floorball kit is a great way to support our local school at a time of tight budgets. “Being able to have a lovely new floorball kit with the school logo and the shop logo on it sends out a great message of Ilmington being a ‘joined up’ community,” says Paul. We love the connection and wish the Ilmington floorball team every success in their local league!
