It’s nine years since the kitchen was first kitted out and this spring we’ve invested in a new dishwasher, coffee machine and cup warmer. “So far it’s all good!” say Cafe volunteer Julia Hamer, trying out the new equipment. “The heated shelves are really useful for keeping the glass mugs warm.” Our new coffee machine has two bean hoppers for delicious Monsoon coffee, which means it’s even quicker and easier to make a decaf. Otherwise, it’s still just a question of pushing a button – no barista skills needed. “If I can do it, anyone can!” says volunteer Alan Sarjant, giving manager Michele a hug.
