
Some people come in for company, others to nurse a coffee and look at the view, others want the WiFi. But: “we’ve come in for electricity!” laughs committee member Sophie Welch. Sophie and her daughter Jemima, aged 16, are both studying for exams this summer. When the electrics went off in their home village of Blackwell, they decided to decamp to the Community Café. “I’ve got my Physics GCSE this time tomorrow,” says Jemima. “She’s got better predicted grades than me!” says Sophie. “I’m studying to be a divorce coach.” We wish them – and everyone studying this summer – every success
