What a delight to see so many faces across the generations of the village and to welcome many visitors who joined the festivities. At one stage the queue for the pig roast snaked across the terrace, but there was plenty for all and many still had room for homemade cake and hot drinks. In the end the weather was kind and stayed dry if a little chilly but that didn’t stop the fun. From the decorated tables to the wonderful outfits everyone made a great effort and added to the event. River Swan of Avon appeared with her whimsical paintings of the Queen, many people chose a picture that they could frame and keep as a memento of an unprecedented celebration. The Flowers of Ilmington danced their socks off for our entertainment with two performances across the afternoon. Huge thanks go to everyone who helped with the setting up and running of the afternoon. What a wonderful way to end the action packed Ilmington Jubilee weekend.
