“That was awesome!” said digital outreach officer Lewys Morgan, after a morning of digital outreach in Ilmington Community Café.

“It’s an opportunity for people to get IT help in a relaxed and informal setting – and that’s the busiest I’ve been. I had some really in-depth queries, which goes to show how much digital help is needed in rural communities.” The kettle was on and the café was buzzing as folk turned up armed with laptops, tablets and some excellent technical questions for Tea and Tech on Friday morning. “How do I send links via email?” Joyce wanted to know. “How do I create groups on email?” asked Karen. Lewys, who works for the Warwickshire Library and Information Service, has limited funding to reach out to rural communities and warm hubs in the area. We’ve invited him back on Friday 22nd March, 10am to 12 for another session before funding runs out. “It’s great that this resource is giving people the skills to access the digital world,” said Joyce. “There’s a really good vibe of mutual learning and support.” Mary said all her questions were answered and the session had been helpful. “Thank you to the Community Café for allowing Warwickshire Libraries to come,” said Lewys. “I can recommend the coffee!”
