…laughs Sheila Lowe, the lady in red in our pictures. “I think we have the best cakes in the Cotswolds and without our cake bakers we don’t really have a Café.” Yesterday was a moment for us to celebrate our volunteer cake-bakers and for Sheila to thank them for their support. There are 32 bakers on the rota in all. Here we see Jean, Jackie, Sue, Jane, Donna, Thelma, Rosie, Cynthia, Marion, Kat, Janet, Fran, Sarah, Astrid, Gill and Joan. David, who makes a Bara Brith, came along later. As a Community Café, run by volunteers, we are very lucky to have them all. And, of course, the party consisted of delicious homemade cake and tea – what else?!
