Here at Ilmington Community Shop, we decided to raise money in a giant raffle. We’ve had so many wonderful prizes donated by village businesses, our suppliers and even our customers, it’s been quite overwhelming. “It became very emotional as I was calling people,” says shop manager Michele Hall. “Everyone has been very keen to get involved, to try to do something in a situation where they feel powerless.” Tickets, available in store, are just £5 and the list of prizes is still growing. The draw will be made on 1st April and the money we raise can be doubled by our bank and channelled to help those most at need.
