So here at Ilmington Community Shop, we’ve decided to play it safe through the summer. We will only be allowing up to four shoppers inside and we ask everyone to please keep sanitising their hands and respecting personal distance. In the cafe, you won’t have to track and trace, but we will leave the QR codes on display for anyone using the app. As for masks, we think everyone is a better protected when wearing one, and we’re asking all our customers and volunteers to wear theirs. Ilmington resident and volunteer Christina Wisdom has agreed to model the look for Summer 2021: “I did two or three years volunteering in the shop before lockdown,” says Christina, “and then we were shielding. I was a bit nervous at first, coming back to volunteer, but now I feel safe. The masks give us a little extra protection and I think people appreciate that.”
