…, Duke of Edinburgh, here at the community shop we are pausing to remember friends and family who have died in the time of pandemic. In our own community, we have lost some wonderful people: not necessarily to Covid, but Covid has transformed the way we’ve said our goodbyes. Unable to gather for the funeral, we have socially distanced around the village green, raising a glass in the rain, or simply standing in respect, as the funeral cortège goes by. The same Covid restrictions will apply to the royal family today. Our hearts go out to all who have lost loved ones in this strangest of years
