… and we are delighted to welcome the team to our Community Café every month for Coffee & Connect. Taking over from the lovely Linda (right) is new outreach volunteer Angela Chick. Angela has lots of experience that will make her a great asset when folk come in for a chat. “I was a volunteer with the Dementia Café at Tysoe,” she says. “I’ve done care work and also trained as a bereavement counsellor. If I can just help or listen in any way I find that very rewarding. I love talking to people!” The idea is that Angela can point you towards the practical assistance, the grant, the essential lifts or the community groups you might need. “We have lots of pamphlets and leaflets,” says Linda. “We run clubs and we know about little pots of money that the government don’t shout about. We say ‘Here’s the name and the number of someone who can help.’” Angela will be in the Community Café from 2pm today and (usually) on the last Friday of the month. Anyone coming for Coffee & Connect qualifies for a free tea or coffee on us
