…and we want to encourage you to bring a friend to work at Ilmington Community Shop and Café! On the day the government furlough scheme ends, we realise we’ve lost a lot of our lockdown volunteers. So we are thinking of ways to entice you back to help out at the shop counter or in the café. One way is to get a mate to volunteer on your shift with you. Another is to join our new Saturday Scheme, which only asks you to commit for a few hours every month. Saturdays have become the toughest day for us as far as volunteer recruitment is concerned, and we understand your weekends are precious. If enough volunteers cover just one Saturday shift a month, it gives us the security of knowing we can reliably open the shop and café.
