Meet Martin Seymour and Jan Sherwood, one of a number of married couples who volunteer without having to worry about social distancing. As we enter another lockdown, we are urgently in need of active volunteers, whether teams of two, or individuals. Maybe you’re working from home or are on furlough with a few hours to spare? Some of our regular volunteers are once again shielding and we depend on our volunteers to keep the shop open. “I really enjoy it,” says Martin. “I was furloughed and it gave me the chance to volunteer. It makes me feel part of the community.” Jan agrees. “The shop is one of the lifebloods of the community,” she says. “And the only way to keep it is to volunteer.” If you think you can help this winter, please call Michele Hall on 01608 682838 or email Susan Brock on s.brock9@btinternet.com
