and we quickly get to the know the delivery guys and galls who bring food and drink to our door. Here’s Fay Bennett, delivering for the Cotswold Pudding and Pie Company with a smile on her face and a pork pie in her hand. “I’m a friend of Myles and Jo Salmon who run the company in Winchcombe. Since Coronavirus they’ve been doing it all on their own and it’s quite relentless,” says Fay. “They want to make their products the best.” This is no ordinary pork pie: it has won the coveted Pork Pie National Championship three times. “They know the provenance of every ingredient,” says Fay, “For instance, they can say exactly which farms the meat comes from. I collect the pies and pasties fresh out of the oven and deliver all over the north Cotswolds.” The pork pies taste so good they speak for themselves – but it’s lovely to hear Fay speaking for them too!
