The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee is a chance for us to bring out the bunting, unfold the trestle tables and party! Starting at 12 noon on Sunday 5th June, to round off a weekend of celebrations here in Ilmington, we are hosting a Pig Roast on Upper Green. We’ve got the long tables: just bring your own chairs, or picnic blankets if you prefer. The community café will be serving wine, beer, soft and hot drinks, ice creams and, of course, our famous homemade cakes. Expect a performance by the Flowers of Ilmington Morris side and even a Queen-themed stall. Naomi Hands-Smith will be selling her delightful, whimsical artworks of Queen Elizabeth under her brand River Swan of Avon. “I thought I’d go big on Her Majesty,” says Naomi. “I’ve been drawing her for two years, but this year is her time.” Entry is free, all are welcome and there will be a collection for the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal
