And we’re hoping you’ll join our celebration of the traditional English strawberry. To help launch the event, we roped in (left to right) Gill, Joan, Liz, Janet and Cynthia, fresh from a very traditional game of tennis at Ilmington Tennis Club. They are all glamorous grannies and Janet is a five times great-grandmother. She and Cynthia both bake cakes for our Community Café. Gill volunteers in both the Café and Shop. Joan says she is 86, but looks half her age… Obviously the secret is to play more tennis! So what’s a Jam Jamboree we hear you ask? It’s a competition with a twist. We are looking for jam makers, young and old, to enter their homemade strawberry jam and we also need 12 willing jam tasters to make up our Jam Jury at 2pm on Monday 17th July.
