Windswept and wondering where the spring has gone

– volunteer Sheila Lowe delivers her homemade Victoria Sponge to Ilmington Community Shop and Café. “They call me the cake lady now,” says Sheila, who is organising a team of village bakers (23 women and one bloke) to make delicious cakes and fruit loaves for our consumption. She’s also here to tell us that the community café will be closed on Sundays for the time being. After two weeks of trading, we have revised our café hours – see the timetable below and on our website www.ilmingtonshop.co.uk. We will be using the next few months to work out how best to run our community café purely with volunteers, so please bear with us as we adapt what we do and work out what we can offer! Please note, we are also closed on a Friday morning so we can prepare home deliveries from the shop.
