Last night was the 7th Ilmington Community Shop AGM and a first too, as it was entirely conducted via video link. It was a chance to thank the hard-working, outgoing members of our committee. A moment to reflect on the many changes the pandemic has brought: a 250% increase in turnover during lockdown, the temporary closure of the cafe, the enrolment of 40 new volunteers and a massive increase in engagement in our social media and email lists. Thirty computers and other devices logged on to our Zoom meeting, and we counted 40 attendees. A record 99 members voted by email or ballot paper, the highest voting turnout of our history, so thanks to all who made the effort. We talked about the success of home deliveries, the unstinting efforts of manager Michele Hall – and our current share offer which runs until 19th March (please see www.ilmingtonshop.co.uk for details.) Finally, chair Mike Tremellen looked forward to next year’s AGM, when he hopes we shall meet in person, a glass of wine in hand!
